House Resolution 195 By: Representatives Santos of the 117th, Lewis-Ward of the 115th, Crowe of the 118th, Flournoy of the 74th, Holly of the 116th, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending the Henry County Office of the Solicitor-General; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, the Henry County Office of the Solicitor-General is responsible for prosecuting misdemeanor crimes on behalf of the State of Georgia and the citizens of Henry County; and WHEREAS, the Victim Services Division of the Henry County Office of the Solicitor-General is designed to assist crime victims throughout the various stages of the judicial process; and WHEREAS, each case involving a victim is assigned to a victim advocate within the Henry County Office of the Solicitor-General who ensures that victims are informed of their rights, provided with available resources, and given additional assistance as needed; and WHEREAS, in 2024, the Victim Services Division of the Henry County Office of the Solicitor-General provided assistance to approximately 975 victims affected by misdemeanor criminal cases; and WHEREAS, February 5, 2025, marks Stand With Survivors Day at the state capitol, a day dedicated to raising awareness and advocating for the rights and safety of domestic violence survivors; and WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkable office be appropriately honored during this special time. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend the Henry County Office of the Solicitor-General for its dedicated, effective, and efficient service on behalf of those in need as well as extend sincere best wishes for continued success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Henry County Office of the Solicitor-General.
