WHEREAS, the State of Georgia has long stood at the forefront of music, culture, and innovation, producing artists whose influence resonates across the nation and around the world; and WHEREAS, YK Niece, an emerging artist from Atlanta, Georgia, has quickly established herself as one of hip-hop's most exciting new voices, representing the vibrancy and creativity of the state's music scene; and WHEREAS, she gained widespread attention with her viral hit "WHIM WHAMMIE," which has amassed millions of streams and social media engagements, helping to propel her into national recognition; and WHEREAS, her rapidly growing catalog, including standout tracks such as "Innit" and "Take Me Thru Dere," showcases her distinctive sound, bold lyricism, and ability to connect with audiences through authentic Southern storytelling; and WHEREAS, YK Niece has earned placement on the Billboard Top Hip-Hop Emerging Artists chart and recognition on the 2025 Staff List, marking her as a rising force within the industry; and WHEREAS, she has accumulated over 200 million total streams across digital platforms, demonstrating both commercial success and widespread appeal; and WHEREAS, YK Niece has successfully transitioned from social media prominence to live performance stages, captivating audiences nationwide and demonstrating the power of digital platforms to launch impactful careers; and WHEREAS, her unique blend of bold Southern trap influences, infectious energy, and charismatic delivery has earned her collaborations and co-signs from notable figures in the music industry, further elevating Georgia's reputation as a hub for musical excellence; and WHEREAS, YK Niece proudly participated in 404 Day at the Georgia State Capitol, contributing to the celebration of Atlanta's culture, music, and civic engagement as well as helping to bridge the gap between entertainment and public service; and WHEREAS, her presence at this event reflects a commitment not only to artistic excellence but also to uplifting her community and engaging with initiatives that promote awareness, empowerment, and progress throughout the State of Georgia. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend YK Niece for her outstanding achievements in music, her growing influence as a cultural leader, and her meaningful participation in 404 Day at the Capitol. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to YK Niece.
