WHEREAS, Nury Castillo Crawford is a first-generation immigrant, lifelong educator, author, and CEO & Founder of THE little BOOK SPOT; and WHEREAS, through her nonprofit, THE little BOOK SPOT, she tirelessly advocates for equitable literacy access, ensuring every child has the tools to succeed; and WHEREAS, her current work as an educational consultant focuses on the Science of Reading, implementing research-driven literacy strategies across the nation; and WHEREAS, as a published author, Nury Castillo Crawford uses bilingual literature to celebrate individual strengths and the beauty of diverse cultures; and WHEREAS, during her tenure with Gwinnett County Public Schools, she proudly created and launched the Hispanic Mentoring Program; and WHEREAS, this initiative gained national recognition, highlighting the State of Georgia's commitment to inclusive student support; and WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this dedicated and remarkable Georgian be appropriately recognized.
