A RESOLUTION
Honoring the life and memory of Kristen Morgan Whaley; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Kristen Morgan Whaley was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend whose life was marked by unwavering faith, genuine kindness, and a steadfast commitment to serving others; and
WHEREAS, born on December 16, 1987, in Columbus, Georgia, Morgan lived a life of purpose and impact, touching countless lives until her passing on March 1, 2026; and
WHEREAS, throughout her illness, she demonstrated extraordinary strength and grace, keeping her faith in the Lord at the center of her life and serving as an enduring example of courage, resilience, and positivity; and
WHEREAS, a graduate of Sequoyah High School, Morgan continued her academic and athletic career at Reinhardt University, where she earned a degree in education and built lifelong friendships that would remain a treasured part of her life; and
WHEREAS, athletics was an extension of her love for people and her constant support of everyone she encountered on the field, in the classroom, and throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, Morgan was known for her contagious smile and her remarkable ability to make every person feel valued, loved, and uplifted, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her; and
WHEREAS, above all, Morgan was devoted to her faith and her family, cherishing her salvation through Jesus Christ; building a life centered on love with her husband, Jimmy Whaley; and serving as a dedicated mother to her sons, JW and Finley, to whom she gave her very best each and every day; and
WHEREAS, the State of Georgia has lost a truly remarkable citizen whose life exemplified faith, compassion, service, and love, and it is only fitting that her memory be honored.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body honor the life and legacy of Kristen Morgan Whaley and extend their deepest and most sincere condolences to her family and loved ones. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the family of Kristen Morgan Whaley.
