House Resolution 2011 By: Representatives Carter of the 93rd, Glaize of the 67th, Ali of the 106th, Clark of the 108th, and McClain of the 109th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending James Edward Ruff on his outstanding public service; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, James Edward Ruff has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for his deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and WHEREAS, James, of Atlanta, Georgia, is a freshman at Georgia Gwinnett College, majoring in Political Science with a concentration in Legal Studies and WHEREAS, he is an active member and volunteer with the ACLU and is committed to civic engagement and public service; and WHEREAS, as a member of the inaugural cohort of the Georgia Gwinnett College Internship Program at the Georgia State Capitol, James served under State Representative Doreen Carter, where he gained firsthand experience in legislative operations; and WHEREAS, during his internship, he observed policymaking, attended events, and engaged with a diverse network of peers and mentors; and WHEREAS, James developed key professional skills, including research, document analysis, time management, leadership, and effective communication, while assisting with tasks such as data organization and policy review; and WHEREAS, James aspires to become a representative for Georgia’s 56th District and to build a career grounded in effective policymaking and community advocacy; and WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend James Edward Ruff for his efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to James Edward Ruff.
