A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Damarion King; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Damarion King is a Junior at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, majoring in Political Science with double minors in Sociology and Communications; and

WHEREAS, a proud first-generation college student from Raleigh, North Carolina, Damarion is committed to breaking new ground and creating generational footprints that uplift and empower his community; and

WHEREAS, rooted in faith as a licensed minister, Damarion’s passion for service and leadership is guided by a deep commitment to care for others, especially those society often overlooks; and

WHEREAS, as a college minister and intern at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, serving under Dr. Jamal Harrison Bryant, Damarion continues to deepen his ministry, engaging his peers and the broader community in meaningful, faith-driven service; and

WHEREAS, at Morehouse College, Damarion serves as the 40th Vice President of the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel Assistants program, reintroducing a new era of campus ministry; and

WHEREAS, he broadened his commitment to public service as a Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Intern in Washington, D.C., working with Congressman Don Davis on behalf of North Carolina’s First Congressional District as well as served as a legislative intern to Georgia State Representative El-Mahdi Holly of District 116; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this distinguished gentleman be appropriately honored.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Damarion King and extend their sincere best wishes for his continued health, happiness, and success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Damarion King.
