A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Dr. Miranda Brand; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Dr. Miranda Brand serves with distinction as the Dean and Vice President of the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences and School of Aviation at Purdue University Global, where she provides visionary leadership over more than 700 faculty members across 45 academic programs and five academic departments; and
WHEREAS, under her leadership, the college serves nearly 11,000 students pursuing doctoral, master's, bachelor's, associate's, and certificate programs, with a steadfast focus on student success, innovation, and workforce readiness; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Brand has demonstrated exceptional expertise in leadership development, faculty mentoring, and the cultivation of more than 1,000 industry partnerships, strengthening the connection between higher education and real-world opportunity; and
WHEREAS, since joining the university in 2006, she has served in numerous roles including faculty member, department chair, and associate dean, and she has played a central role in the development and launch of 12 academic degree programs, advancing access to high-quality education; and
WHEREAS, her professional career reflects more than 20 years of dedicated service in public education, including roles as a teacher, curriculum coordinator, staff development presenter, and school administrator, demonstrating a lifelong commitment to learning and leadership; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Brand has been recognized for excellence through numerous honors, including being a four-time recipient of the Purdue Global Distinction Award and receiving the Georgia Governor's Office of Student Achievement Gold Award for Highest Student Achievement for three consecutive years; and
WHEREAS, she holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Fayetteville State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Methodist University; and
WHEREAS, through her leadership, service, and dedication, Dr. Brand has made a lasting impact on students, faculty, and the broader educational community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Dr. Miranda Brand for her exemplary leadership and contributions to higher education and extend best wishes for her continued success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Dr. Miranda Brand.
