WHEREAS, with an exemplary career spanning more than four decades of service as a news anchor in Columbus, Georgia, Dee Armstrong was recently inducted into the Georgia Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame; and WHEREAS, the Georgia Association of Broadcasters is composed of more than 400 individuals who contribute to the general well-being of our state by informing the public and fostering insightful dialogue regarding the day's most pressing issues; and WHEREAS, the Georgia Association of Broadcasters, the nation's first and oldest broadcast association, works diligently to represent the interests of local Georgia radio and television licensees; and WHEREAS, these local radio and television broadcasters play a vital role in times of great struggle, including natural disasters and severe weather events, providing critical information and guidance to keep communities safe; and WHEREAS, through their roles as respected and trusted broadcasters, members of the Georgia Association of Broadcasters positively impact our state and local communities; and WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this exceptional individual be appropriately honored during this special time. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Dee Armstrong upon the grand occasion of her induction into the Georgia Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame and extend best wishes for future health and happiness.
