A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Georgia Asian Times; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Georgia Asian Times, founded by Li Wong, is a pioneering digital news media platform that highlights and celebrates the achievements, contributions, and diverse experiences of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community across Metro Atlanta and the state of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, the publication serves as a vital cultural bridge by promoting locally owned businesses, amplifying underrepresented voices, and providing a platform through which AAPI communities can raise awareness of critical issues and engage in meaningful advocacy; and

WHEREAS, through its commitment to community recognition and civic engagement, Georgia Asian Times organizes and hosts impactful events such as the Most Influential AAPI in Georgia Awards Gala and the AAPI Summit, which honor outstanding leaders and showcase organizations advancing the well-being of AAPI communities; and

WHEREAS, the outlet expands public awareness of key issues including social security, housing, and cultural heritage through its multilingual and culturally relevant programming, including the Usapang Pinoy, Tieng Noi Viet, and Sungkhom Lao podcasts, as well as its comprehensive coverage of lifestyle, business, arts, and health news; and

WHEREAS, by elevating community events and fostering ethnic and cultural connections, Georgia Asian Times plays a vital role in strengthening community identity and cohesion, highlighting celebrations such as the Korean Festival and JapanFest, which enrich the cultural fabric of Georgia.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Georgia Asian Times and extend their sincere best wishes for its continued growth and success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Georgia Asian Times.
