House Resolution 2057 By: Representatives Sanchez of the 42nd, Lupton of the 83rd, and McQueen of the 61st A RESOLUTION Recognizing March 31, 2026, as Underserved Communities Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper to recognize Community Estr(El/La) for their work and service in educating communities about the challenges and contributions of underserved Georgians; and WHEREAS, Community Estr(El/La) is a community-based organization underserved individuals who are dedicated to defending, organizing, and empowering the human rights of underserved Georgians, including racial minorities, victims of domestic violence, sexual minorities, indigenous peoples, immigrants, and others; and WHEREAS, Underserved Communities Day is a significant observance dedicated to recognizing the struggles and celebrating the achievements of underserved communities; and WHEREAS, these communities have faced historical and ongoing challenges, including violence, discrimination, and injustice; and WHEREAS, recognizing Underserved Communities Day serves as an opportunity to foster understanding, inclusivity, and acceptance within our state. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize March 31, 2026, as Underserved Communities Day at the state capitol. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the press.
