House Resolution 2058

A RESOLUTION

Congratulating the Heritage High School girls basketball team; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Heritage High School girls basketball team from Ringgold, Georgia, are the 2026 Region 7AAA Champions and 2026 State Champions with a 28–4 overall record; and

WHEREAS, Tori Epps was named State Semifinals and Finals MVP; and

WHEREAS, Paisley Collins was selected as GACA All-State; and

WHEREAS, Bailee Hollis and Ema Tanner graduate high school with three Softball State Championships and one Basketball State Championship; and

WHEREAS, Georgia Gracy made the most iconic shot in county history to send the Heritage girls into overtime for the championship win; and

WHEREAS, Greg Elkins was named Region 7AAA Coach of the Year and GACA/GBCA State Coach of the Year for AAA; and

WHEREAS, Heritage became the first team in Catoosa County history to win a State Championship in basketball; and

WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition, it is abundantly proper to call them champions.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body congratulate the Heritage High School girls basketball team upon becoming the 2026 Region 7AAA Champions and 2026 State Champions and extend best wishes for their continued success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Heritage High School girls basketball team.
