A RESOLUTION
Commending Zoreida Reyes-Garcia for her outstanding service as a legislative intern; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Zoreida Reyes-Garcia of Peachtree Corners, Georgia, is a sophomore at Georgia Gwinnett College majoring in criminal justice; and
WHEREAS, as a member of the inaugural cohort of the Georgia Gwinnett College Internship Program at the Georgia State Capitol, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to public service and civic engagement; and
WHEREAS, during her service as a legislative intern for the Office of Representative Arlene Beckles, Zoreida Reyes-Garcia has contributed to legislative operations through research, drafting bill analyses, preparing speeches and constituent communications, and supporting the office during committee meetings; and
WHEREAS, most notably, she assisted with research, drafting materials, and preparation for committee discussions on House Bill 1142, which focused on establishing a domestic violence registry in the State of Georgia; and
WHEREAS, through these responsibilities, she has gained valuable firsthand experience in the legislative process and developed a deeper understanding of how laws are researched, developed, and implemented to serve communities across the State of Georgia; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this exemplary individual be appropriately honored during this special time.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Zoreida Reyes-Garcia for her service as a legislative intern during the 2026 regular session of the General Assembly of Georgia and extend the most sincere best wishes for future success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Zoreida Reyes-Garcia.
