A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Sierra Haynes on her outstanding public service; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Sierra Haynes has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for her deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS, Sierra, of Decatur, Georgia, is a sophomore at Georgia Gwinnett College, majoring in Political Science with a Pre-Law focus; and
WHEREAS, as a member of the inaugural cohort of the Georgia Gwinnett College Internship Program at the Georgia State Capitol, Sierra assisted with tracking House and Senate bills and resolutions, drafting speeches both in support of and in opposition to legislation, and completing administrative tasks such as developing constituent data resources for her Representative’s office; and
WHEREAS, through these efforts, she gained valuable insight into the legislative process and policy development; and
WHEREAS, Sierra aspires to become a diplomat as well as a civil rights attorney and activist; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Sierra Haynes for her efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Sierra Haynes.
