WHEREAS, Zoreida Reyes-Garcia has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for her deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and WHEREAS, Zoreida, of Peachtree Corners, Georgia, is a sophomore at Georgia Gwinnett College, majoring in Criminal Justice; and WHEREAS, as a member of the inaugural cohort of the Georgia Gwinnett College Internship Program at the Georgia State Capitol, she served as a Legislative Intern in the Georgia House of Representatives for the Office of Representative Arlene Beckles; and WHEREAS, in this role, Zoreida was actively involved in legislative research, drafting bill analyses, preparing speeches and constituent communications, and supporting the office during committee meetings, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the legislative process; and WHEREAS, notably, she contributed to work on House Bill 1142, focused on establishing a domestic violence registry in the State of Georgia, diligently assisting with research, drafting materials, and preparation for committee discussions; and WHEREAS, Zoreida aspires to pursue a career as a Georgia State Trooper, where she can serve and protect her community while promoting public safety and justice; and WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
