House Resolution 2074 By: Representatives Tran of the 80th, Roberts of the 52nd, Panitch of the 51st, Drenner of the 85th, and Holcomb of the 101st A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending the 5th Annual Green Egg and Kegs Festival at Dunwoody Village; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, the Green Egg and Kegs Festival, held in Dunwoody, has become one of the most anticipated annual community events in the region, bringing together residents, local businesses, and visitors for a celebration of food, beverage, music, and fellowship; and WHEREAS, the 5th Annual Green Egg and Kegs Festival, held at Dunwoody Village, continues to showcase the culinary talents of dozens of local restaurants and chefs, along with a wide array of craft breweries, distilleries, and beverage partners, creating a vibrant and inclusive community gathering; and WHEREAS, the festival was founded by David Abes, a local restaurateur and community leader who envisioned an event that would bring people together to support local businesses and foster a stronger sense of community; and WHEREAS, since its inception, the Green Egg and Kegs Festival has grown significantly in size and impact, evolving into a signature event known as one of Dunwoody's premier annual celebrations and drawing participation from an expanding network of restaurants, sponsors, and attendees each year; and WHEREAS, the festival reflects Mr. Abes's broader commitment to building community through hospitality, including his efforts to create a dynamic gathering space in Dunwoody Village where residents can connect through shared dining and entertainment experiences; and WHEREAS, the Green Egg and Kegs Festival also serves an important charitable mission, with proceeds benefitting Breakthrough T1D, supporting research and advocacy for individuals living with type 1 diabetes; and WHEREAS, through its continued success, the festival has contributed to the economic vitality of the Dunwoody area, strengthened partnerships among local businesses, and enhanced the cultural and social fabric of the community; and WHEREAS, the organizers, sponsors, volunteers, and participants of the Green Egg and Kegs Festival are deserving of recognition for their dedication to making this event a meaningful and lasting tradition. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend the 5th Annual Green Egg and Kegs Festival at Dunwoody Village and honor its founder, David Abes, for his vision, leadership, and commitment to community building. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the organizers of the Green Egg and Kegs Festival and David Abes.
