WHEREAS, over the course of his distinguished life, Dr. Willie Frank Rainey Jr. has demonstrated a sincere commitment to the pursuit of excellence through his academics, exemplary healthcare career, and numerous accomplishments; and WHEREAS, Dr. Willie Frank Rainey Jr. graduated from Tuskegee University in 1978 and the Medical College of Georgia in 1982, during which time he was also a distinguished member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Gamma Phi Chapter; and WHEREAS, he completed his residency with Emory University hospital systems in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1985, gaining the clinical training that would support a long and impactful career in medicine; and WHEREAS, Dr. Rainey served for 34 years as an internal medicine physician with the Southeast Permanente Medical Group of Kaiser and held the role of regional chief of adult medicine, contributing to both patient care and medical leadership; and WHEREAS, in addition to his professional accomplishments, he has traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad, pursuing an appreciation for history, culture, and the natural beauty of the world; and WHEREAS, he is the devoted father of State Representative Dr. Jasmine Clark and Willie Frank Rainey III as well as the beloved grandfather of Jayda and Jacobe Clark; and WHEREAS, this distinguished gentleman has given inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and deep concern for his fellow citizens, and he possesses the vast wisdom which only comes through experience and the strength of character which is achieved through overcoming the many challenges of life; and WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately honored. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Dr. Willie Frank Rainey Jr. and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.
