House Resolution 2088

A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending the 2026 Heart of Community Award of Honor recipient Jeb
Arp; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Jeb Arp has served the Rome and Floyd County community for decades as an
educator, volunteer, and civic leader; and
WHEREAS, Jeb serves on several boards of directors, including the Rome Area Heritage
Foundation as co-president and secretary, the Rome International Film Festival as a Film and
Entertainment Society founding member, and the William S. Davies Shelters Advisory
Board; and
WHEREAS, Jeb has participated in the Rome-Floyd County Commission on Children and
Youth's "Are You Smarter Than a 3rd Grader?" competition, the Bloom Closet PorchFest
Planning Committee, the Neighborly Love sweatshirt fundraiser for the Garden Lakes
Elementary School staff appreciation fund, and the Junior Service League of Rome Follies;
and
WHEREAS, Jeb has shared his talents at Rome First United Methodist Church and Youth
Ministry as a youth mentor, a member of the praise band, and a delegate to the North Georgia
United Methodist Conference; and
WHEREAS, Jeb has been honored with the 2020 Georgia Board of Realtors Humanitarian
Award, was named "20 Under 40" in the 2016 Rome Life Magazine, and is a graduate of the
Leadership Rome Class of 2013; and
WHEREAS, Jeb's interests reflect a love of architecture, historic preservation, and
community development, from restoring old homes to volunteering his time and patronizing
fun and flashy events that support local arts and culture.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body recognize Jeb Arp for his outstanding dedication to the community,
commend him as a recipient of the 2026 Heart of Community Award of Honor, and extend
the most sincere best wishes for continued success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Jeb
Arp.
