A RESOLUTION
Commending Dem Franchize Boyz for their significant contributions to Atlanta's musical
culture and their role in popularizing snap music; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, the City of Atlanta has long been recognized as one of the world's most
influential centers of musical creativity and innovation, producing generations of artists,
producers, DJs, and entrepreneurs whose work has shaped the global sound of hip-hop and
popular music; and
WHEREAS, Atlanta's historic Westside communities, including neighborhoods such as
Bankhead, have served as a key incubator of cultural expression and musical innovation,
producing generations of artists, producers, and creative pioneers whose work helped shape
the evolution of snap music, trap music, and modern hip-hop; and
WHEREAS, institutions such as Frederick Douglass High School in Atlanta, Georgia, have
played a vital role in cultivating talent and leadership that have carried the spirit and sound
of Atlanta's Westside from local neighborhoods to audiences across the nation and around
the world; and
WHEREAS, Dem Franchize Boyz, consisting of members Parlae, Pimpin', Jizzal Man, and
Buddie, emerged from Atlanta's thriving music community and became pioneers of the snap
music movement; and
WHEREAS, the group gained national recognition with their breakout single "White Tee,"
which became a cultural phenomenon and introduced audiences across the country to
Atlanta's emerging snap music style; and
WHEREAS, their follow-up hit "Lean wit It, Rock wit It" further propelled the group to
national prominence, becoming a defining anthem of the snap music era and inspiring a
generation of dance culture and youth expression across the United States; and
WHEREAS, through their music, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit, Dem Franchize Boyz
helped solidify Atlanta's reputation as a global capital of hip-hop and demonstrated the power
of local culture to influence worldwide musical trends; and
WHEREAS, the snap music movement that emerged from Atlanta in the early 2000s
represents a significant cultural contribution of the City of Atlanta and the State of Georgia,
influencing the evolution of Southern hip-hop, dance culture, and modern popular music
around the world.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body commend Dem Franchize Boyz for their outstanding contributions
to Atlanta's musical culture and for their lasting influence on the evolution of snap music and
hip-hop.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Dem
Franchize Boyz.
