WHEREAS, Sarah Huffman is a native of Rome who currently serves as the Assistant Director of Human Resources and Risk Management for the City of Rome; and WHEREAS, Sarah volunteers her time and energy to numerous civic projects, and her approach to service is hands-on, visionary, and deeply rooted in a belief that communities thrive when individuals step up to give their time and talent; and WHEREAS, Sarah demonstrates service to her community through her involvement as a Board member of Habitat for Humanity - Coosa Valley; The Davis Shelter; GB Federal Credit Union; and Leadership Rome, Rome Floyd Chamber of Commerce; and WHEREAS, Sarah has served as a Volunteer Judge for GNTC GOAL Awards since 2014; for the Darlington School Tech Competition; and the Rome City Schools Tech Competition; and WHEREAS, Sarah is an active member of Leadership Rome Alumni; was honored as the Young Professional of the Year—2022, Rome Floyd Chamber of Commerce; has been a "celebrity" participant in the Sexual Assault Center of NWGA Celebrity Dance Challenge; and a supporter and donor of various other community organizations including, TRED, Rome Little Theater, Rome Pride, and PFLG Rome; and WHEREAS, Sarah has supported education as a volunteer for various Rome City Schools Programs; as a former mentor for Rome Middle School "Habitudes" program; and a volunteer reader for Read Across America Week. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize Sarah Huffman for her outstanding dedication to the community, commend her as a recipient of the 2026 Heart of Community Award of Honor, and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued success.
