WHEREAS, Leah Mayo serves as an Assistant District Attorney in the Floyd County District Attorney's Office; and WHEREAS, Leah is a graduate of Darlington School, Presbyterian College, and she received her Juris Doctor from the Mercer University School of Law; and WHEREAS, she has served as president and social committee co-chair for the Rome Area Council for the arts; and WHEREAS, Leah has received the Outstanding Young Alumna Award from Presbyterian College, Exceptional Young Professional Award from the Rome-Floyd Chamber of Commerce, and was chosen to deliver the 2024 Opening Convocation at Presbyterian College; and WHEREAS, Leah has served as a college mentor and Mock Trial Coach at Pepperell High School; Darlington School Alumni Council Committee Chair; and as a Member of Leadership Rome XXXIX; Leadership Darlington Class '22; Rome Bar Association; Rome-Floyd Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals; and the Mercer University School of Law Young Alumni Council Class Representative; and WHEREAS, with an impressive career in public service and numerous volunteer and community leadership engagements, Leah Mayo exemplifies the type of young leader integral to the future of Rome and Floyd County. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize Leah Mayo for her outstanding dedication to the community, commend her as a recipient of the 2026 Heart of Community Young Heart Award, and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued success.
