A RESOLUTION
Congratulating the H. G. Yeomans III Family Trust, the 2024 Georgia Tree Farmer of the
Year; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, at the Georgia Forestry Association's Annual Conference & Forestry Expo in
Savannah, the Georgia Tree Farm Program named the H. G. Yeomans III Family Trust as the
2024 Georgia Tree Farmer of the Year in recognition of their outstanding forest management
and dedication to sustainable land stewardship; and
WHEREAS, presented through the American Tree Farm System, this prestigious award
honors private landowners who demonstrate forestry practices that support local wildlife,
wood production, water conservation, and recreational opportunities; and
WHEREAS, established in the 1700s, the Yeomans family farm has grown from its original
275 acres to encompass 2,300 acres of beautifully kept land; and
WHEREAS, their logging business, Yeomans Wood and Timber, is widely recognized for
its commitment to forest stewardship, employing sustainable forestry management practices
such as prescribed fire, native longleaf pine restoration, and wildlife habitat preservation; and
WHEREAS, they have additionally integrated soil and water-friendly road construction,
designed custom deer stands to accommodate physically disabled outdoor enthusiasts, and
repurposed reclaimed wood and bricks from old farm structures for educational events and
family gatherings; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this exemplary family be appropriately
honored during this special time.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body congratulate the H. G. Yeomans III Family Trust upon their
recognition as the 2024 Georgia Tree Farmer of the Year as well as extend best wishes for
continued success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the
H. G. Yeomans III Family Trust.
