## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution formally congratulates the North Gwinnett High School Game Day Cheer Squad for winning the 2024 State Championship, its second title.

### Plain-language summary

This is a commendation resolution passed by the Georgia House of Representatives. It does not change any law; it recognizes the North Gwinnett High School Game Day Cheer Squad in Suwanee for winning the 2024 State Championship, describing the team's performance, teamwork, and the leadership of its three coaches.
The resolution formally congratulates the team and wishes it continued success. It also directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare a copy of the resolution for distribution to the cheer squad, which is the resolution's only concrete administrative action.

### What it does

- Congratulates the North Gwinnett High School Game Day Cheer Squad on winning the 2024 State Championship, its second title.
- Names and praises the team's three coaches, Tabatha Johnson, Kelly Halcomb, and Emily Troughton, for their direction of the team.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare a copy of the resolution for distribution to the team.
- Extends the House's best wishes for the team's continued success, without creating any new law, funding, or requirement.

### Who it affects

The North Gwinnett High School Game Day Cheer Squad, its 32 members, and its three coaches, Tabatha Johnson, Kelly Halcomb, and Emily Troughton, along with the Clerk of the House of Representatives, who must prepare the commemorative copy.

### Why it matters

The resolution carries no legal or financial effect on Georgians generally. Its practical impact is symbolic recognition: the cheer squad and its coaches receive an official document from the Georgia House of Representatives honoring their 2024 state championship win.

### Key provisions

- The whereas clauses describe the team's season, its second state championship, its 32 members (nine seniors, 14 juniors, two sophomores, seven freshmen), and its coaches.
- The first resolving clause has the House of Representatives congratulate the team and wish it continued success.
- The second resolving clause directs the Clerk of the House to make a copy of the resolution available to the team.
