A RESOLUTION

Honoring the life and memory of Kyran George Battersby; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens with the passing of Kyran George Battersby on January 8, 2025; and

WHEREAS, he was born on March 5, 1951, in Dublin, Ireland, a beloved son of William Augustine and Gladys Mary Battersby; and

WHEREAS, Kyran George Battersby moved from Ireland to Chattanooga, Tennessee, in 1971 and then moved to the Northwest Georgia area in 1994, where he would reside in Ringgold, Georgia, with his family; and

WHEREAS, in his professional career, he enjoyed gainful employment as part of Kelly Cadillac's Sales Department, retiring in 2014 after more than 30 years of dedicated service; and

WHEREAS, he was united in love and marriage to his wife, Janet, and was blessed with two remarkable children, Anjanette and Kyran; and

WHEREAS, Kyran George Battersby was a wonderful family man who dearly loved his wife, family, and pets, including his favorite raccoons, and he was known as the Master Griller and Meat Smoker, always enjoying the time he spent preparing meals for those he loved; and

WHEREAS, a true Irish man blessed with the "gift of gab," Kyran George Battersby never met a stranger and enjoyed talking to anyone he encountered; and

WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, Kyran George Battersby will long be remembered for his love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who had the great fortune of knowing him.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Kyran George Battersby and express their deepest and most sincere regret at his passing. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the family of Kyran George Battersby.
