WHEREAS, our nation's security continues to rely on patriotic men and women who put their personal lives on hold in order to place themselves in harm's way to protect the freedoms that all United States citizens cherish; and WHEREAS, Colonel (Ret.) Christopher Jenkins valiantly and courageously served as a guardian of this nation's freedom and liberty with the United States Army for 40 years and retired from service on July 1, 2024; and WHEREAS, during his distinguished career, Colonel (Ret.) Jenkins demonstrated an unwavering commitment to defending his fellow Americans throughout six overseas deployments and two domestic mobilizations; and WHEREAS, Colonel (Ret.) Jenkins held leadership roles such as Platoon Leader, Company Commander, Liaison Officer, Forward Strategic Transportation Officer, Human Resources Officer, Logistics Officer, and Battalion Commander, serving in critical capacities that supported United States military operations around the world; and WHEREAS, Colonel (Ret.) Christopher Jenkins for his effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and this nation; congratulate him on the grand occasion of his retirement; and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.
