A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Hickory Log upon the occasion of its 55th anniversary; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, established in White, Georgia, in 1970, Hickory Log is a private non-profit personal care living facility for men with special needs, including intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, and traumatic brain injuries; and
WHEREAS, founded by Al and Sara Munn for their son, Rey, and the men in surrounding counties, this outstanding organization provides a safe space for residents to hone their relational, vocational, and financial skills in a manner that champions independence within the personal care home model; and
WHEREAS, recognizing that families wish to keep their loved ones close, Hickory Log not only offers comprehensive care to its residents but also extends support and community to their families; and
WHEREAS, Hickory Log is benevolently committed to loving all people with a heart of compassion, service, and grace; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this exemplary care home be appropriately honored during this special time.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Hickory Log upon the grand occasion of its 55th anniversary for its decades of service on behalf of those in need as well as extend best wishes for continued success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Hickory Log.
