By: Representatives Cummings of the 39th, Seabaugh of the 34th, Wilkerson of the 38th,
McQueen of the 61st, Carson of the 46th, and others
A RESOLUTION
Congratulating and commending Melony Tidmore, Miss Cobb County's Teen 2025; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS, a high school sophomore at Liberty University Online Academy, Melony
Tidmore was crowned last year as Miss Cobb County's Teen 2025 and was additionally
honored as the competition's Talent Winner for her ballet en pointe performance of the
"Esmerelda Variation"; and
WHEREAS, she will go on to participate in the Miss Georgia's Teen competition in June
2025, the winner of which will represent the State of Georgia and compete for the title of
Miss America's Teen; and
WHEREAS, she has distinguished herself as an exemplary role model, speaker, advocate,
and volunteer, particularly through her community service initiative "Dance: A Movement
Towards Better Health," which promotes the mental and physical health benefits of dance
for all ages with a special emphasis on senior citizens; and
WHEREAS, she has expanded the reach of her initiative through her social media campaign
"Melody's Movement Monday" as well as through collaborations with the Wellstar Health
System, the Salvation Army's Silver Sneakers program, and the Atlanta Ballet Children's
Outreach Program; and
WHEREAS, a dedicated and accomplished dancer, she has completed over 13 years of dance
training, including classical ballet, and she is currently a pre-professional ballerina at the
Tolbert Yilmaz School of Dance; and
WHEREAS, through her service as a member of the 2025 Cobb County Youth Commission,
Melony works closely with local government, develops leadership skills, and participates in
service projects throughout Cobb County; and
WHEREAS, she has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement by maintaining a 4.12
GPA, serving as president of the National Beta Club, being selected for the Duke University
Summer Program, and earning recognition as one of 52 National Beta Club All-Star
Community Service winners; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
remarkable and distinguished young Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body congratulate Melony Tidmore upon her win as Miss Cobb County's
Teen 2025, commend her for her outstanding work on behalf of her community, and extend
best wishes for future success in competition.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to
Melony Tidmore.
