A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Sanaa Scipio; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Sanaa Scipio, an accomplished 11th-grade student at Landmark Christian School in Fairburn, Georgia, has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a strong passion for public policy, community service, and civic engagement; and

WHEREAS, Sanaa actively contributes to her school community as a member of both the National Honor Society and the Impact Leadership Academy and she serves as manager of her school's regional championship soccer team; and

WHEREAS, as further testament to her exemplary service, she established and leads Landmark's Public Forum Debate Program, where she both coaches and inspires her peers; and

WHEREAS, beyond the classroom, Sanaa has trained with the Veritas Debate Institute to hone her strategic thinking skills and ability to analyze complex issues, which led to her presenting a winning proposal before a panel of executive leaders at a Fortune 500 company; and

WHEREAS, deeply committed to civic engagement, Sanaa additionally serves on both the Fairburn Youth City Council and the Fulton County Youth Commission, using her voice to advocate for meaningful change while dedicating over 400 volunteer hours to community service initiatives; and

WHEREAS, as a Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) Ambassador, Sanaa has gained valuable leadership experience and expanded her global perspective through study journeys in Italy and Cuba as well as her participation in a Uganda Literacy Project; and

WHEREAS, her dedication to excellence has earned her the Congressional Award Silver Medal, the President's Volunteer Service Award, and the AP Scholar recognition; and

WHEREAS, driven by a passion for helping others, Sanaa has dedicated her future to making a positive impact in her community and beyond through shaping public policies that promote justice and equality.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Sanaa Scipio for her outstanding youth leadership and her commitment to academic success as well as extend the most sincere best wishes for future success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Sanaa Scipio.
