A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Dr. Tenisha Bibbs; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Dr. Tenisha Bibbs is a dedicated maternal health advocate and postpartum coach who serves as CEO of Tenisha Bibbs Enterprises, where she leads efforts to improve maternal and postpartum health outcomes through holistic care and strategic advocacy; and

WHEREAS, with over 25 years of experience, Dr. Bibbs works to address critical gaps in postpartum mental health, lactation support, birth advocacy, and maternal mortality prevention, ensuring that mothers and birthing persons receive the comprehensive care they need to thrive; and

WHEREAS, as the founder of Refocus Newborn Health & Postpartum Care, a nonprofit organization, Dr. Bibbs provides essential services to help mothers transition from hospital to home with confidence, focusing on postpartum recovery, mental health resources, and breastfeeding education to support long-term maternal well-being; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Bibbs is dedicated to combating maternal mental health challenges, including postpartum depression and maternal suicide, as well as addressing the barriers that prevent many women from accessing the care they need; and

WHEREAS, a passionate policy advocate, Dr. Bibbs collaborates with healthcare providers, community leaders, and policymakers to increase access to maternal health services, championing the expansion of Medicaid as well as insurance coverage for doula services and holistic postpartum care; and

WHEREAS, as a published author and dynamic speaker, Dr. Bibbs educates and inspires through her books, including Ask a Doula: A Transitional Guide for New Moms, which provides practical advice to help women navigate the postpartum journey; and

WHEREAS, through her work, Dr. Bibbs is building a lasting legacy of maternal health advocacy, upholding the belief that every mother deserves access to resources and support that foster healing, confidence, and long-term well-being; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Dr. Tenisha Bibbs for her efficient, effective, and exemplary service to her fellow citizens as well as extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Dr. Tenisha Bibbs.
