A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Dr. Noris Price; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Dr. Noris Price has served as the Superintendent of Baldwin County Schools
since July 1, 2014, demonstrating unwavering dedication to student success and academic
excellence; and
WHEREAS, under her exemplary leadership, the Baldwin County School District has
implemented instructional initiatives and strategies that have significantly improved student
performance, increasing the high school graduation rate from 66 percent to 85 percent; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Price has successfully secured over $10 million in grant funding, greatly
benefiting the students and programs of Baldwin County Schools, and has led the school
district through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools/Council on Accreditation
and School Improvement district accreditation process; and
WHEREAS, prior to her tenure as Superintendent, Dr. Price served as Deputy
Superintendent of the Clarke County School District, where she played a pivotal role in the
development and implementation of school and system-wide improvement efforts, leading
to the district being named the Title I Distinguished District in 2010 for closing the
achievement gap; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Price has devoted her career to public education, serving as an elementary
school teacher in New York City and Fairfax, Virginia, and later as an Assistant Principal
and Principal in Fairfax, Virginia, and Fulton County, Georgia, where she led Woodland
Elementary Charter School to multiple state and national recognitions; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Price has been widely recognized for her contributions to education,
receiving accolades such as the 2022 Georgia Superintendent of the Year, Georgia School
Superintendents Association President's Award, Georgia Charter System of the Year, and the
Communities in Schools National "All In For Students" Award, among many others; and
WHEREAS, she has served on numerous prestigious boards, including the Georgia School
Superintendents Association Board of Directors, the Association for Supervision and
Curriculum Development National Board of Directors, and the Georgia School Boards
Association Board of Trustees, further demonstrating her commitment to advancing
education at all levels; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Price holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Nova
Southeastern University, a Certificate in Educational Leadership from George Mason
University, a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Lehman College of the City
University of New York, and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from
Wilmington College in Ohio; and
WHEREAS, she firmly believes that public education remains the greatest opportunity for
America's children to achieve a quality education and realize the American Dream,
regardless of their background or socioeconomic status.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body recognize and commend Dr. Noris Price for her exemplary
leadership, unwavering dedication, and outstanding contributions to public education and the
Baldwin County community as well as extend our deepest gratitude for her years of service
and wish her continued success in all her future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Dr.
Noris Price.
