House Resolution 315

A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Jacob Crumbley; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, a native of Harris County and graduate of Harris County High School, Jacob Crumbley has been named U.S. Soccer's 2024 Male Cerebral Palsy Player of the Year; and

WHEREAS, he joined the United States Cerebral Palsy Men's National Team (CP MNT) in 2018 during his senior year of high school and has since represented the United States in international competitions across Spain, England, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Australia, and Ireland; and

WHEREAS, in 2024, he demonstrated exceptional versatility and leadership, excelling in multiple positions and leading the CP MNT with five goals and eight total goal contributions, including standout performances at the IFCPF World Cup in Salou, Spain; and

WHEREAS, Jacob played a pivotal role in Team USA's seventh-place finish at the IFCPF World Cup, delivering a crucial equalizer and scoring the game-winning goal in a dramatic comeback victory against Germany; and

WHEREAS, as a dedicated member of Team USA, Jacob has contributed to the success of the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee, earning two bronze medals at the Parapan American Games; and

WHEREAS, a talented multi-sport athlete, Jacob played on the Harris County High School Varsity Soccer Team and served as a kicker for the Tigers football team, where he was ranked the third-best kicker in the nation for his graduating class by the Ray Guy Kicking Camp program; and

WHEREAS, Jacob is the third recipient of the Male Cerebral Palsy Player of the Year award since its inception in 2022, earning 59 percent of the weighted vote; and

WHEREAS, his achievements reflect his hard work, resilience, and passion for soccer, bringing pride to Harris County and the State of Georgia, and it is abundantly fitting and proper that he be appropriately honored.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Jacob Crumbley, U.S. Soccer's 2024 Male Cerebral Palsy Player of the Year, and extend best wishes for continued success both on and off the field.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Jacob Crumbley.
