A RESOLUTION
Commending the Boy Scouts of America in Georgia and recognizing February 26, 2025, as Scouts Day at the Capitol; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts of America is an organization dedicated to training youth in responsible citizenship, character development, and self-reliance through participation in a wide range of outdoor activities, educational programs, and service projects; and
WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts of America in Georgia are the most active group in the state with over 40,000 scouts and more than 3,500 adult leaders in more than 600 units; and
WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts of America in Georgia have contributed to the state's communities through their service projects and their commitment to the ideals of Scouting; and
WHEREAS, the annual Scouts Day at the Capitol provides an opportunity for Scouts to learn about their government and to engage in dialogue with their representatives in the Georgia House of Representatives.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the Boy Scouts of America in Georgia for their commitment to the values and principles of Scouting and for their service to the state. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the members of this body recognize February 26, 2025, as Scouts Day at the Capitol and encourage all elected officials to take part in the events to show appreciation for the Boy Scouts of America in Georgia. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the press.
