## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution commends Student Leadership NORTH, a youth leadership program serving high schools in Johns Creek, Roswell, and Alpharetta, for its work training young community leaders.

### Plain-language summary

This resolution from the Georgia House of Representatives formally recognizes Student Leadership NORTH, previously called Student Leadership Johns Creek. The organization runs a two year leadership program for sophomores and juniors at several area high schools, including Centennial, Chattahoochee, Johns Creek, Northview, Alpharetta High School, Mt. Pisgah School, Providence Christian Academy, and Innovation Academy.
The resolution describes how the program pairs students with business, city, and government leaders, has students complete community service projects in the first year, and helps them apply leadership skills beyond high school in the second year. It notes strong college outcomes among graduates. The resolution commends the organization and directs the Clerk of the House to send it a copy of the resolution, but it does not change any Georgia law.

### What it does

- Formally commends Student Leadership NORTH for its work training young community leaders in the Johns Creek, Roswell, and Alpharetta area.
- States the House's recognition of the program's two year structure covering leadership training and community service in year one and individualized application in year two.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare and distribute a copy of the resolution to Student Leadership NORTH.
- Creates no new law, funding, or regulatory requirement, since it is a ceremonial resolution rather than a bill.

### Who it affects

Student Leadership NORTH and its student participants, along with the partner high schools named in the resolution: Centennial, Chattahoochee, Johns Creek, Northview, Alpharetta High School, Mt. Pisgah School, Providence Christian Academy, and Innovation Academy.

### Why it matters

The resolution has no legal or regulatory effect; it is a symbolic honor from the Georgia House of Representatives. Its practical impact is limited to public recognition for the organization and a formal copy of the resolution presented to it.

### Key provisions

- The whereas clauses describe the organization's mission, its two year program structure, the participating schools, and reported college attendance rates among graduates.
- The resolving clause has the House of Representatives recognize and commend Student Leadership NORTH.
- A further resolving clause directs the Clerk of the House to make a copy available for distribution to the organization.
