A RESOLUTION
Congratulating the North Hall High School cross country program for its outstanding achievements during the 2024 season; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, the North Hall High School cross country program has long demonstrated a commitment to excellence, developing student-athletes who embody perseverance, discipline, and sportsmanship; and
WHEREAS, the 2024 cross country season was a historic and record-breaking year for North Hall High School, highlighted by the girls team winning the GHSA Class 3A State Championship—the first-ever girls state title in any sport in the school's history; and
WHEREAS, the North Hall girls secured the championship in dominant fashion, placing five runners in the top 14 at the state meet, with senior Clodagh O'Bryant earning the individual state championship title after an outstanding career as a four-time region champion and school record holder in the 1600-meter and 3200-meter events; and
WHEREAS, the girls team saw additional all-state performances from Summer Muxlow, who finished second, and Harleigh Smith, who placed fifth; and
WHEREAS, the North Hall boys cross country team also had an exceptional season, finishing as the GHSA Class 3A State Runner-Up, led by senior Bryant Young, who secured third place individually and earned all-state honors; and
WHEREAS, the success of the North Hall High School cross country program extends beyond the high school level as the middle school boys team additionally captured its third consecutive state championship; and
WHEREAS, the achievements of the North Hall cross country program are the result of the dedication and hard work of its student-athletes as well as the leadership of coaches Sam Borg, Art Dacosta, Jill Borg, and Lindsey Green; and
WHEREAS, as these magnificent teams earned their well-deserved reputations for excellence by performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition, it is abundantly proper to call them champions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body congratulate the North Hall High School cross country program for its outstanding achievements during the 2024 season and extend best wishes for continued success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to North Hall High School.
