## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution formally congratulates the North Hall Middle School boys and girls cross country teams for winning the 2024 GHSA Middle School State Cross Country Championship.

### Plain-language summary

This resolution from the Georgia House of Representatives honors the North Hall Middle School boys and girls cross country teams for capturing the 2024 GHSA Middle School State Cross Country Championship, their third consecutive state title, along with the Grand Champion award for best overall cross country program in the state.
The resolution recounts individual and team achievements, including runners who competed on all three consecutive championship teams from sixth through eighth grade. It does not change any Georgia law. Its only operative actions are to formally congratulate the teams and direct the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare copies of the resolution for distribution to the teams.

### What it does

- Formally congratulates the North Hall Middle School boys and girls cross country teams for winning the 2024 GHSA Middle School State Cross Country Championship.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare copies of the resolution for distribution to the teams.
- Extends best wishes from House members for the teams' continued success.
- Creates no new law, funding, or penalties; it is a commendation with no regulatory effect.

### Who it affects

The resolution directly names and honors the North Hall Middle School boys and girls cross country teams, their coaches, and named individual runners. It has no effect on the general public, other schools, or any state agency.

### Why it matters

The resolution carries symbolic and ceremonial weight rather than legal effect. It gives the North Hall Middle School athletes and coaches formal recognition from the Georgia House of Representatives and an official copy of the resolution to keep, but it changes nothing about how schools or athletic programs operate.

### Key provisions

- The resolved clause has the House of Representatives congratulate the North Hall Middle School boys and girls cross country teams for their 2024 GHSA championship.
- A further resolved clause directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare and distribute copies of the resolution to the teams.
- The whereas clauses recount specific team and individual achievements, including three consecutive state titles and a Grand Champion award, but carry no legal force.
