By: Representatives Horner of the 3rd and Tarvin of the 2nd
A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending the Ringgold High School JROTC Tiger Guard drill team; and
for other purposes.
WHEREAS, the Ringgold High School JROTC Tiger Guard drill team has established and
maintained a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics;
and
WHEREAS, despite being the smallest team competing at the National Level, the Ringgold
JROTC Tiger Guard has achieved remarkable success, winning over 50 All Army and
National trophies as well as multiple region and state championships in the past eight years;
and
WHEREAS, the Ringgold JROTC Tiger Guard made history by forming the first all-female
color guard to present colors at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, an accomplishment that garnered
recognition in local and regional news; and
WHEREAS, this all-star team is led by Cadet Drill Team Commander Parell, who has been
a dedicated member of the Tiger Guard since the seventh grade and competed at the National
Level as early as eighth grade, where she was honored with the Commanding General's coin
by a two-star general from Fort Knox, Kentucky; and
WHEREAS, Cadet Drill Team Commander Parell has won an impressive five region titles,
six state titles, two All Army Runner-Up finishes, and five national titles, including her most
recent national victory last year; and
WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by
performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition, it is
abundantly proper to call them champions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body recognize and commend the Ringgold High School JROTC Tiger
Guard drill team and extend best wishes for their continued success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the
Ringgold High School JROTC Tiger Guard drill team.
