## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution congratulates the Forsyth Central High School One Act Play program in Forsyth County for winning the 2024 GHSA Class 6A State Championship.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution from the Georgia House of Representatives, not a change to state law. It honors the Forsyth Central High School One Act Play theater program for winning the 2024 Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Class 6A State Championship for its production of 'Red,' the school's first state title in the activity since 2005.
The resolution recognizes individual cast members, including Gavin Haslett for winning Best Actor and Christian Rippe for making the All-Star Cast, and credits Director Kevin Whitley for the program's continued success since it began in the late 1980s. It directs the Clerk of the House to prepare a copy of the resolution for the school's program.

### What it does

- Formally congratulates the Forsyth Central High School One Act Play program for winning the 2024 GHSA Class 6A State Championship.
- Recognizes cast members Gavin Haslett for winning Best Actor and Christian Rippe for making All-Star Cast.
- Credits Director Kevin Whitley for the program's ongoing success in educational theater.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare and distribute a copy of the resolution to the program.

### Who it affects

The resolution directly names the Forsyth Central High School One Act Play program, its director Kevin Whitley, and cast members Gavin Haslett and Christian Rippe. It also involves the Clerk of the House of Representatives, who must prepare and distribute the commemorative copy.

### Why it matters

The resolution carries no legal or financial effect and changes no Georgia law. Its practical significance is symbolic: it gives the school program, its director, and student performers formal recognition from the state legislature for their theater achievement.

### Key provisions

- The resolved clause has the House of Representatives congratulate the program for its 2024 GHSA Class 6A State Championship win and wish it continued success.
- A further resolved clause directs the Clerk of the House to make a copy of the resolution available for distribution to the program.
- The whereas clauses recite background facts, including the program's origin in the late 1980s and its first state title since 2005.
