## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution formally commends Melissa Moore, a Cartersville High School teacher, for being named the school's 2025 STAR Teacher.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution from the Georgia House of Representatives honoring Melissa Moore, a teacher at Cartersville High School, for being selected as the school's 2025 STAR Teacher. The STAR program recognizes top students and the teachers they credit with their academic success.
The resolution does not change any Georgia law or create any new program. It simply states the House's praise for Moore's contributions to education and directs the Clerk of the House to prepare a copy of the resolution for her.

### What it does

- Formally commends Melissa Moore for being named Cartersville High School's 2025 STAR Teacher.
- Expresses the House of Representatives' best wishes for her continued success as an educator.
- Directs the Clerk of the House to prepare and distribute a copy of the resolution to Melissa Moore.
- Makes no changes to Georgia law, funding, or school policy.

### Who it affects

The resolution directly names Melissa Moore, a teacher at Cartersville High School. It also involves the Clerk of the House of Representatives, who must prepare and distribute a copy of the resolution to her.

### Why it matters

This resolution carries symbolic rather than legal weight. It gives Melissa Moore public recognition from the state legislature for her teaching, but it does not change funding, policy, or requirements for schools or teachers anywhere in Georgia.

### Key provisions

- The resolution recites Moore's recognition as Cartersville High School's 2025 STAR Teacher as the basis for the commendation.
- The operative resolving clause has the House commend Moore and wish her continued success.
- A further resolving clause directs the Clerk of the House to make a copy available for distribution to Moore.
