## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution congratulates Union City Council Member Angelette Mealing for receiving the 2025 Yellow Rose Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award, a ceremonial honor with no legal effect.

### Plain-language summary

This is a resolution from the Georgia House of Representatives, not a law that changes any statute. It formally congratulates Union City Council Member Angelette Mealing for receiving the 2025 Yellow Rose Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award, an honor given by the Georgia Women's Legislative Caucus during Women's History Month.
The resolution recounts Mealing's work on public safety, youth and senior programs, affordable housing, and economic recovery in Union City, as well as her leadership roles with the Georgia Municipal Association and the National League of Cities. It closes by directing the Clerk of the House to prepare a copy of the resolution for her.

### What it does

- Formally congratulates and commends Council Member Angelette Mealing for receiving the 2025 Yellow Rose Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award.
- Recites her record of community service in Union City, including work on public safety, housing, and senior and youth programs.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare a copy of the resolution for distribution to Mealing.
- Does not create, amend, or repeal any Georgia statute; it has no regulatory or funding effect.

### Who it affects

The resolution directly names Council Member Angelette Mealing of Union City. It does not impose any obligations, costs, or changes on the general public, businesses, or government agencies beyond the Clerk of the House preparing a ceremonial copy.

### Why it matters

This resolution is a formal, symbolic honor rather than a change to Georgia law. It carries no legal or financial consequences for Georgians; its significance is limited to publicly recognizing Mealing's local civic contributions in Union City.

### Key provisions

- The resolved clause states the House congratulates and commends Council Member Mealing for the award and wishes her continued success.
- A further resolved clause directs the Clerk of the House to make a copy of the resolution available for distribution to Mealing.
- The whereas clauses provide background on the award's namesake, Representative Nikki T. Randall, and Mealing's civic record but create no binding rules.
