WHEREAS, small businesses are the backbone of our economy, representing 99.7 percent of businesses in the State of Georgia; and WHEREAS, in recognition of the significance of small businesses, Small Business Advocacy Day serves as a platform to celebrate their contributions and address their needs; and WHEREAS, the Small Business Majority, the Women's Entrepreneurial Opportunity Project Inc., the Urban League of Greater Atlanta, the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs, Our Village United, Kindred Futures, and Georgia First are organizations dedicated to advocating for and supporting small businesses in Georgia; and WHEREAS, these organizations play a crucial role in empowering entrepreneurs, fostering economic growth, and promoting equitable opportunities for small business owners across various communities; and WHEREAS, these organizations are committed to fostering a thriving environment for small businesses and entrepreneurship in Georgia. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the Small Business Majority, the Women's Entrepreneurial Opportunity Project Inc., the Urban League of Greater Atlanta, the Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs, Our Village United, Kindred Futures, and Georgia First for their efforts to empower entrepreneurs, promote economic development, and advance opportunities for small business owners across the State of Georgia.
