A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending the Georgia Teacher Leader Consortium; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Georgia Teacher Leader Consortium (GTLC) is a dedicated network of National Board Certified teachers and educators who work to enhance the teaching profession in Georgia; and

WHEREAS, the GTLC has established a nonprofit organization to support educators, increase the number of National Board Certified teachers in Georgia, and ensure that every child has access to accomplished educators, regardless of zip code; and

WHEREAS, as a proud affiliate of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, the GTLC actively collaborates with local legislators on educational initiatives that align with its mission of excellence in teaching and learning; and

WHEREAS, the GTLC is led by an esteemed board of educators, including Dr. Heavenly Montgomery, president and founder; Dr. Elletta Denson, vice president; Deanna Rogers, executive director; Natalia Rachel, director of STEM education; Dr. Shannon Flounnory, executive director of leadership programs; Charla Fields, director of professional learning; Kamasia Wright, director of communications; Altames Larkins, director of instructional efficacy; and Kartisha Bentley, school leadership advisor; and

WHEREAS, the dedication and expertise of these leaders have contributed significantly to the advancement of teacher advocacy, instructional excellence, and professional growth opportunities for educators across Georgia; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this outstanding organization be appropriately honored.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend the Georgia Teacher Leader Consortium for its invaluable contributions to the teaching profession and its continued efforts to support and advocate for educators in Georgia as well as extend best wishes for continued success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Georgia Teacher Leader Consortium.
