House Resolution 436 By: Representatives Schofield of the 63rd, Burnough of the 77th, Cannon of the 58th, Scott of the 76th, and Davis of the 87th A RESOLUTION Commending the invaluable contributions of school bus drivers and school food service workers and recognizing February 28, 2025, as Honoring Heroes Day; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Honoring Heroes Day will be observed on February 28, 2025, at the Georgia State Capitol, bringing together community members and legislators to honor the essential work of school bus drivers and school food service workers; and WHEREAS, school bus drivers play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of Georgia's students, providing secure and reliable transportation that fosters a sense of stability, care, and trust; and WHEREAS, school food service workers are dedicated to nourishing students with healthy, balanced meals that are essential for academic success, physical health, and overall well-being; and WHEREAS, both school bus drivers and school food service workers demonstrate daily commitment, hard work, and compassion, often going beyond their official duties to positively impact students' lives; and WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the outstanding efforts and dedication of these often-unsung heroes be recognized and celebrated for the essential roles they play in Georgia's educational system and communities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Georgia's school bus drivers and school food service workers for their invaluable contributions and recognize February 28, 2025, as Honoring Heroes Day. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the sponsors of Honoring Heroes Day and to Georgia's school bus drivers and school food service workers.
