House Resolution 44 By: Representatives Petrea of the 166th and Stephens of the 164th A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Barry A. Brown; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Savannah native Barry A. Brown was born on November 6, 1954, to the late Henry J. and Bernardine Osbourne Brown; and WHEREAS, he graduated from Savannah High School and dedicated over 20 years to the City of Tybee, serving on the Planning Commission and City Council as well as Mayor Pro Tempore; and WHEREAS, as a longtime resident of Tybee Island, Barry A. Brown was a committed member of the Marine Rescue Squadron for over 25 years; and WHEREAS, Barry A. Brown belonged to the American Legion Post 154, and professionally, he was the proud owner and operator of Barry A. Brown Co. Inc.; and WHEREAS, his family was the most important thing in his life; his greatest treasures were his grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Barry A. Brown enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching chef, restauranteur, and television host Guy Fieri; and WHEREAS, his dry sense of humor made him beloved by all, and he will long be remembered for his love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who had the great fortune of knowing him; and WHEREAS, he never met a stranger; Barry A. Brown loved helping others and his kindness was boundless; and WHEREAS, his wife of 51 years, Sunni; his children, siblings, nieces, and nephews; and his "greatest treasures," grandchildren Colby, Tyler, Brayden, and Phoenix, meant the world to Barry A. Brown. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body honor the life and memory of Barry A. Brown and express their deepest and most sincere regret at his passing. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the family of Barry A. Brown.
