A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Davante Jennings; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Davante Jennings has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours
of his time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of his community and state, as
evidenced dramatically by his superlative service as President of the Young Democrats of
Georgia (YDG); and
WHEREAS, with a passion for empowering young people and advancing progressive causes,
Davante is known for his work in creating clear policy agendas for young people, building
an alumni network within the organization, and securing internships and paid opportunities
for young Democrats; and
WHEREAS, originally from Huntsville, Alabama, his leadership and advocacy have played
a pivotal role in revitalizing the Young Democrats of Georgia Black Caucus, making it the
largest and most active YDG caucus; and
WHEREAS, his commitment to community upliftment is evident in his fundraising efforts
for HBCUs and Greek organizations through the Rising Sun Foundation as well as his
instrumental role in helping elect Donya Sartor, the first Black female mayor of Jonesboro,
Georgia; and
WHEREAS, Davante's mission is to offer young people opportunities to thrive and lead
positive lives, using his platform to be a voice for those who need it the most; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
remarkable and distinguished leader be appropriately recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body recognize and commend Davante Jennings for his exemplary
leadership and political advocacy in the State of Georgia as well as extend best wishes for
continued success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to
Davante Jennings.
