A RESOLUTION
Congratulating the Toombs County High School football team for winning the 2024 GHSA
Class A Division 1 State Football Championship; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, the Toombs County High School football team has established and maintained
a proud tradition of excellence with equal emphases on character and academics; and
WHEREAS, this superlative team has completed another triumphant season of football
competition by posting an outstanding record of 13 wins and only one loss; and
WHEREAS, excellent play, superior teamwork, and extraordinary resilience made this team
a spectacular one to observe throughout the season, and as a fitting finale to its remarkable
2024 campaign, the team captured its first ever state football championship; and
WHEREAS, the team brought special recognition to its school and to Toombs County by
winning the 2024 GHSA Class A Division 1 State Football Championship against Northeast
High School with a final score of 38-18; and
WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding
athletic ability, dedication, hard work, and unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the
team; and
WHEREAS, this magnificent team performed with precision during the season and earned
its well-deserved reputation for high standards of athletic achievement, the quality of its play,
and the stiff competition it presented to its opponents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body congratulate the Toombs County High School football team for
winning the 2024 GHSA Class A Division 1 State Football Championship and extend best
wishes for continued success.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the
Toombs County High School football team.
