By: Representatives McDonald III of the 26th, Jones of the 25th, Barrett of the 24th, Jasperse
of the 11th, and Cox of the 28th
A RESOLUTION
Honoring the South Forsyth High School co-ed cheer team, the 2024 GHSA Class 6A Cheer
State Champions; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, the South Forsyth High School co-ed cheer team has demonstrated outstanding
skill, dedication, and perseverance, culminating in their victory as the 2024 GHSA Class 6A
Cheer State Champions; and
WHEREAS, the team's achievement is a testament to their hard work, teamwork, and the
unwavering support of their coaches, families, and school community; and
WHEREAS, through their commitment to excellence, the team has brought great pride and
recognition to South Forsyth High School and Forsyth County; and
WHEREAS, the following student-athletes have exemplified dedication, sportsmanship, and
talent in securing this championship: Lyla Boleware, Shea Cheek, Lizzie Crane, Lizzy
Gaffney, Chloe Handschumacher, McKenzie Heath, Ellie Heglin, Reilly Hill, Addison
Litzlinger, Madison Malave, Emma Mason, Dania Nacy, Layla Newbold, Amanda Ricci,
Jackson Schmuhl, Rylie Shull, Emma Smith, and Ella Yu; and
WHEREAS, the dedicated leadership and guidance of the coaching staff were instrumental
in the team's success, coaches Stacey Schmuhl, Lyndsey Phelps, and Lyndi McCloud are
commended for their efforts; and
WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by
performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition, it is
abundantly proper to call them champions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body recognize and honor the South Forsyth High School co-ed cheer
team for their exceptional achievement as the 2024 GHSA Class 6A Cheer State Champions.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the
South Forsyth High School co-ed cheer team.
