House Resolution 503 By: Representatives Barton of the 5th, Ridley of the 6th, Wiedower of the 121st, Gaines of the 120th, Anderson of the 10th, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Delane Roberts on the occasion of her retirement; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Delane Roberts has long been recognized by the citizens and leaders of this state for the vital role she has played in state and local government and her deep personal commitment to the State of Georgia; and WHEREAS, for the past 32 years, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of the daily operations of the Georgia General Assembly, as evidenced by her service to the Georgia House of Representatives; and WHEREAS, she began her career with the Georgia House of Representatives on January 1, 1993, and has served numerous members over the years, including 12 years as the Defense & Veterans Affairs Committee Assistant; and WHEREAS, she excelled in each of these roles, demonstrating a keen ability to identify opportunities for her elected officials, maintaining an extensive network of contacts across state agencies and departments, and always upholding a cheerful demeanor; and WHEREAS, this stellar woman exemplifies the courage, determination, leadership, and character necessary to attain excellence in government service, and her contributions have been recognized and appreciated by all who work under the Gold Dome; and WHEREAS, a lifelong member of Bremen Church of Christ, she has remained actively involved in her faith community, where her father, Jessie Roberts, and she was a devoted caregiver to her mother, Sue Bearden Roberts, and her aunt, Eloise Bearden Bell, until their passing; and WHEREAS, she has announced her retirement, effective January 1, 2025, and is to be honored for her decades of efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the citizens of this state. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Delane Roberts for her decades of service to this state; congratulate her upon the grand occasion of her retirement; and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued good health and happiness. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Delane Roberts.
