## Summaries written by Georgia Commons

The following was written by claude-sonnet-5 from the text above and is not part of the resolution. Quote the text, not the summary.

A Georgia House resolution designates March 20, 2025 as Buc-ee's Day at the state capitol, honoring the travel center chain's expansion into Georgia.

### Plain-language summary

This is a ceremonial resolution from the Georgia House of Representatives, not a change to state law. It recognizes March 20, 2025 as Buc-ee's Day at the state capitol, celebrating the travel center chain Buc-ee's and its growing presence in Georgia.
The resolution recounts Buc-ee's history, from its start in Texas to its locations in Warner Robins and Calhoun, an upcoming location in Brunswick, and a planned site in Monroe County. It notes the jobs, sales tax revenue, and surrounding investment each location brings. The House directs its Clerk to prepare copies of the resolution for distribution to Buc-ee's, the public, and the press.

### What it does

- Designates March 20, 2025 as Buc-ee's Day at the state capitol in a formal House resolution.
- States the House's recognition and celebration of Buc-ee's presence and growth in Georgia, with no binding legal effect.
- Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to prepare copies of the resolution for distribution to Buc-ee's, the public, and the press.
- Recites background facts about Buc-ee's locations, expansion plans, and economic effects such as jobs and sales tax revenue.

### Who it affects

The resolution mainly concerns Buc-ee's as a company and its travel center locations in Warner Robins, Calhoun, and the planned Brunswick and Monroe County sites. It has no direct legal effect on other Georgians, businesses, or government agencies.

### Why it matters

As a ceremonial resolution, this measure does not change any Georgia law, create funding, or impose requirements. Its main effect is symbolic recognition of Buc-ee's and its economic footprint in the state, with copies distributed to the company and the press.

- The whereas clauses describe Buc-ee's amenities, merchandise, food offerings, and its expansion from Texas into Georgia and other states.
- The resolved clause formally designates March 20, 2025 as Buc-ee's Day at the state capitol and extends best wishes for the company's continued success.
