A RESOLUTION
Commending The Links, Incorporated and recognizing March 10, 2025, as the Georgia Links
Day At The Capitol; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, The Links, Incorporated is one of the nation's oldest and largest volunteer
service organizations, founded in 1946, and is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to
enriching, sustaining, and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans
and other people of African ancestry; and
WHEREAS, The Links, Incorporated has a distinguished history of promoting the core
values of friendship, integrity, honesty, service, commitment, family relationships, courage,
respect for self and others, legacy, confidentiality, responsibility, and accountability, which
continue to guide its efforts to empower communities across the country; and
WHEREAS, the members of The Links, Incorporated are influential decision-makers and
opinion leaders, including business and civic leaders, role models, mentors, activists, and
volunteers dedicated to making a positive difference in their communities and the world; and
WHEREAS, The Links, Incorporated contributes more than one million documented hours
of community service annually, thereby strengthening local communities and enhancing the
well-being of the nation; and
WHEREAS, The Links, Incorporated has a comprehensive and impactful programmatic
focus, which includes five key areas: Services to Youth, The Arts, National Trends and
Services, International Trends and Services, and Health and Human Services, all of which
are implemented through public information, education, economic development, and public
policy campaigns.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body commend The Links, Incorporated for its unwavering commitment
to service and leadership and recognize March 10, 2025, as Georgia Links Day At The
Capitol in honor of their outstanding contributions to society.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to The
Links, Incorporated.
