A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Reverend Shivern L. Jeter; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Reverend Shivern L. Jeter has long been recognized by the citizens of this state
for the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the
welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Jeter is an Associate Minister at The Historic Macedonia Baptist
Church, in Conyers, Georgia; a Housing Support Coordinator for View Point Health; and
an outstanding community leader; and
WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,
talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced
dramatically by her superlative service with Foster Care Friends, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Jeter is a faithful foster parent of 28 years, as well as the founder and
executive director of Foster Care Friends, Inc., a nonprofit that supports the foster, adoption,
kinship, and homeless community; and
WHEREAS, on April 1, 2025 Foster Care Friends, Inc., will celebrate 11 years of exemplary
service and dedication to children and families in need; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Jeter 's significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable
patience and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of
this state have earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and associates; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Jeter additionally serves her community as an Executive Board
member for The Department of Family and Children Services, Advisory Chaplain at
Rockdale Piedmont Hospital, Sworn Court Appointed Specialty Advocate for children in
Rockdale County, Assistant Chaplain at the Rockdale Sheriff's Department, and as a Council
Board Member for Rockdale County Public Schools; and
WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that
the members of this body recognize and commend Reverend Shivern L. Jeter for her
efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia;
congratulate her upon the grand occasion of the 11th anniversary of Foster Care Friends, Inc.;
and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to
Reverend Shivern L. Jeter.
