House Resolution 531 By: Representatives Lim of the 98th, Reeves of the 99th, Beckles of the 96th, Romman of the 97th, and Santos of the 117th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Larry Campbell and Corners Outreach; and for other purposes. WHEREAS, Larry Campbell has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication as the President and CEO of Corners Outreach, an organization committed to breaking cycles of generational poverty through educational development and economic opportunities; and WHEREAS, he founded Corners Outreach over 12 years ago, growing it into a professionally staffed nonprofit that has built trusted relationships with over 1,500 families through its two leading programs, Corners Academy and Corners Social Enterprise; and WHEREAS, under his leadership, Corners Academy has provided tutoring to more than 3,000 students, achieving significant improvements in literacy and math, and has partnered with over 20 Title I schools to support early education, teen programs, and parenting workshops; and WHEREAS, launched in 2018, Corners Social Enterprise has created stable employment opportunities for parents and young adults through skill development programs, job placements, and new certifications, generating millions in revenue to support the organization's mission; and WHEREAS, prior to his work in the nonprofit sector, he founded and led CD Group, a successful technology consulting company with employees in 20 states for 25 years; and WHEREAS, his expertise spans business strategy, profit management, analytics, operations, and relationship building, all of which have contributed to his success in both corporate and nonprofit leadership; and WHEREAS, he has received numerous accolades in recognition of his humanitarian efforts, including being named a Braves Community Hero in 2020 and appearing in Charles Barkley's TNT documentary Race in America; and WHEREAS, in addition to his professional accomplishments, he serves as an elder and pastor at Corners Church and is a devoted husband of 53 years, father to three grown children, and grandfather to seven grandchildren; and WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkable individual be appropriately honored during this special time. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend Larry Campbell for his exceptional leadership and service to the community as well as extend best wishes for his continued success. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Larry Campbell.
